2. INTENDED USE AND INSTALLATION
We sell portable power stations, batteries, solar panels and related gear for camps, cabins, vehicles and home backup. Use every product as its manufacturer intends. Anything that connects to a building's electrical system, such as a solar array, battery bank, inverter, generator inlet or transfer switch, must be installed by a licensed electrician to the National Electrical Code and local codes. Never backfeed a building through an outlet. Our products are not intended as the only power source for medical or life-safety equipment.
3. PERFORMANCE
Solar output and battery runtime depend on things outside our control: sun angle, season, clouds, smoke, shade, temperature, and what you plug in. Specs on our site come from the manufacturers. Figures shown as "up to" describe ideal conditions, and real-world results will vary.
4. ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Some of our products deliver household-voltage AC power and high DC current. Follow the manufacturer's warnings, keep products within their rated temperature and water protection, and don't open, modify or repair them yourself. If a product gets unusually hot, smells, swells, leaks or sparks, stop using it and contact us.
5. LITHIUM BATTERY SAFETY
- Charge, use and store batteries within the temperature ranges in the manufacturer's manual. Most lithium batteries can't be charged below freezing unless they have built-in self-heating.
- Don't crush, puncture, or expose batteries to fire or extreme heat.
- Airline travel: the FAA limits spare lithium batteries to 100 Wh each in carry-on bags, or up to two batteries of 101–160 Wh with airline approval. The power stations and batteries we sell are far larger, so don't pack them in airline baggage. Check FAA PackSafe and your airline before you fly with any battery.
- Recycle lithium batteries at a battery drop-off, never in household trash. Find one at call2recycle.org.
6. REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
The brands we carry are responsible for certifying their products (for example UL, ETL or FCC listings where they apply). We'll request certification documents from the brand for you if you need them. All product claims on our site come from manufacturer specifications or our own hands-on use, and we correct anything found to be inaccurate. If you learn of a product safety issue, contact us right away.
