The gear

Who picks what you sell?

People who do electrical work. We carry a short list of power stations, batteries and solar panels we'd put in our own camps, cabins and trucks. Each brand ships its gear to you directly.

Which power station or battery do I need?

Start with what you want to run and for how long. Multiply each device's watts by the hours you'll run it, then add them up. That's your daily watt-hours. Pick something with more capacity than that, and a continuous output rating above the biggest thing you'll run at once. Or email us your list and we'll help you size it, free.

Do I need an electrician to set up cabin solar?

Not for a power station with folding panels. You plug those in and go. Once panels get mounted and wired in, or a battery bank and inverter feed the cabin's outlets, that's permanent wiring. It needs a licensed electrician, and depending on your county, a permit.

Can a power station back up my house?

It can run essentials like a fridge or lights during an outage, within its output rating. To power circuits in your house, you need a transfer switch or generator inlet installed by a licensed electrician. Never plug a power station into an outlet to feed the house. Backfeeding is dangerous for you and for the line crews working to restore power.

Can I charge it with solar?

Yes. Every power station we carry has a solar input: up to 650 W on the Dark Energy Recon 2000, and up to 400 W on the Comvolt 2200 and 4200. Make sure the panel's connector and voltage match the station's input. If you're not sure, email us and we'll check the pairing.

Do these batteries work in the cold?

They'll run in the cold, but most lithium batteries can't safely charge below freezing on their own. Several we carry have built-in self-heating for cold-weather charging: the Comvolt 2200 and 4200, the Epoch 12V 460Ah and the OHMMU Group 31.

Can I take a power station on a plane?

No. The FAA limits spare lithium batteries to 100 Wh each in carry-on bags, or up to two of 101–160 Wh with airline approval. Every power station and battery we carry is far larger than that.

What's the warranty?

Each brand warranties its own gear, and the length depends on the brand and product. If something fails after our 30-day return window, email us and we'll file the claim with the brand for you.

Shipping and orders

Who ships my order?

The brand that makes it, straight from their warehouse. We're still the seller, so any questions come to us.

How much is shipping?

It's calculated at checkout from the brand's rates, so you'll see the exact cost before you pay. We don't offer free shipping right now.

How long does it take?

Brands usually ship within a few business days, and you'll get a tracking email when your order leaves. Delivery time depends on the brand and where you are.

Will everything come in one box?

Not if your order has gear from more than one brand. Each brand ships its part separately, with its own tracking number.

Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Canada?

It depends on the brand. If an item can't ship to your address, checkout will tell you before you pay.

Can I return something?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery if it's unused and in its original packaging. Return shipping is free, and there's no restocking fee. Details are in our Refund Policy.

What if it arrives damaged?

Take photos of the box and the product, and email us within 7 days of delivery with your order number. We'll sort it out with the brand at no cost to you.
